Memorial Day Weekend - NH

We got out of Dodge for the three day weekend and it was a fine time indeed. Chris powered through a 1:30am-6:00am drive and, after a nap for all of us, we hit the monthly flea market on the town common. Our longtime friend, Paphanh, sells her Laotian food at the market and Ivy made herself comfortable very quickly. With a chicken dumpling.

Creston was most interested in playing in the cooler of icy water.

And eating juicy melon with his shirt off.

Creston is a very kissy boy. Here he is kissing Grandma Carola. And check out Mai, Grandma's new Airedale puppy! Super cute.

Grandma's hat.

We took a little walk over to the neighbor's dairy farm, Berway Farm and Creamery. We were in the market for some whole milk, which Creston and Ivy swim through at a rate of half a gallon a day. A half gallon of milk is only $3 when you go straight to the source! It's $1.50 more expensive than that in Brooklyn.
Big Creston, Cora and Arthur came, too.  This visit was the first time we had met Arthur and, honestly, there is so much to like about that baby. I wish we had a better, closer picture of him.

This was such a nice moment for a moment. It was extremely hot and humid out, and we finally reached our icy cold milk and Creston was so happy with the feel of the cool glass bottle. But then the beautiful bottle tipped over and broke, sending glass and milk everywhere. It was not a winning moment for this mother. Wayne and Shirley were very gracious about the whole thing, but I'm a little worried about the milk under the refrigerators as the weather gets hotter... eggs behind the piano, anyone? Bradfords?

Naked fun time. Really fun time, actually. Cora kept us all supplied with imaginary ice cream and sang out, over and over, "Free Ice Cream for Sale!!"

Thanks, Grandma Carola. Wish we lived a little closer.

Win Some and Lose Some

We got a new gadget. This pod on wheels connects to the back of a bike and we ROLL!  The weather has been unbeatable here, so we've been on the road. Creston and Ivy are into it.

On Mother's Day we biked to the Brooklyn Bridge. Ivy enjoyed the view.

Creston slept. Kid'll sleep anywhere, anytime (except past 5:45am).

And then our bikes were stolen out of the backyard that night. Which is a real bummer. But it was a really special weekend and we'll be back on the bikes again soon!
