A wedding!

The beautiful Brooklyn wedding of Sarah Krauss and Laura Hymson brought friends to town from far and wide. It was Creston and Ivy's first Big Event and all four of us spent a good deal of time on the dance floor; of course, we don't have pictures of that, but maybe some will surface at some point? Congratulations, SK and LH!

We decided to take a 3 mile walk to Prospect Park and back on a very, very hot day. Maybe not the best idea, but we made it!

Two Months Old!

Two months! Kinda hard to believe. Creston and Ivy now smile on purpose, which is just about the cutest thing we've ever seen. So far.

Creston, happy.

We took a trip to the pediatrician for the first round of vaccines. A good time was not exactly had by all, but it went fine.

The big news is that both babies are growing like mad. Creston was only 5 lbs 10 oz when he was born...he is now 10 lbs 4 oz. Ivy was 6 lbs 9 oz when she was born...she is now 10 lbs even. The doctor didn't hide her shock and their Mama didn't hide her pride in all that good milk. Ivy is unaware that her brother has lapped her. Maybe she's satisfied knowing that he's 25th % all around and she is 50th %. So there.

Two Grandpas came to visit. Grandpa Pete took a trip to the neighborhood of Red Hook with us. We walked along the waterfront and then hit the ball fields, where we sampled the famous grub of the Red Hook Food Vendors. Delicious pupusas, massive carne asada, crunchy slaw, etc. A girl next to us couldn't stop yelling with pleasure about the deep fried, beef-and-cheese-filled whole potato that she was consuming. Maybe we'll try that next time.

Grandpa Syd stayed over and held babies, which is his favorite pastime. He also cleans dishes like a champion.

Amy and Lisa Dold stopped over to say hello to their small friends.

Bye!

PS That rascal Aunt Catherine came by again, but she spilled red wine on Baby Creston, so no pictures of her this time...

More visitors and other nice things

Life is grand. We have been getting out of the house for mini adventures quite a bit, but those moments seem harder to document than the ones where we chill out in the house. So here's more of that.
Baby Creston met his namesake: Uncle Creston! Baby Creston has a lot to live up to considering how creative and accomplished Uncle Creston is.

Aunt Catherine looks so happy you can hardly tell that she was just evicted from her apartment! Yeah!

Ivy enjoys her baths, Creston not so much.

Ivy Carola, slumbering.

Creston Wade in new finery from Aunt Madhavi.

Erika Cohen visited from Boston and baked a delicious birthday carrot cake that we are still eating way too much of, sometimes for breakfast.

Mama Kate and Finn McKeinle stopped over for a visit. Finn proved that he is much bigger than his twin friends. He is a very handsome boy.

Cousin Jane is a foxy pregnant lady, due in July. Hooray for more cousins!

Sammy

Some people have wondered how Sammy is faring in all this ruckus. This is Sammy during her carefree Vermont days this Winter.

Without a doubt, her life is now different. But she seems to be enjoying her new little friends. The first night that we brought Creston and Ivy home, Sammy was intensely interested and got up to observe every time the twins made a sound. Now she's as sleep deprived as we are and attempts to snooze through all the nighttime squawking. She is always close at hand and often underfoot. We try to love her up as much as possible lest she feel like a totally forgotten child. That's why she gets her very own post.

Sitting around looking cute

We don't really go anywhere yet since we're waiting for 6 weeks to be up and post-C-section Mama is free to move around. But the weather was so nice, and Grandma Carola was in town to cook 1,001 exotic dishes, so we broke the rules and took a stroll in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

But mostly we just stay put and relax.

Together Forever

It's hard to tell if Ivy and Creston really notice each other yet. But we sure do like to take pictures of them together.

They're too big for this trick now.

Maybe Creston does notice Ivy after all...

And so Ivy notices Creston...whoops.
